Pop Tab Bracelet
By: Jaime D. Designs
Materials:Crochet thread, embroidery floss, DMC 5 or similar sized thread.
16 pop tabs for adult size. The amount will vary depending on the size.
Beads (optional) I like the Glass beads
D hook
Stitches used and abbreviations:
Slst: Slipstitch
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
Gauge is not important. Use a hook that feels right.
Take your two pop tabs and overlap them, I like to put the rough, scratchy part on top of the other one so that it isn’t against the skin.
If you are doing two different colors, string your beads right before you start round two. If you are doing just one color, string your beads before round 1.
Round 1: Slipstitch in the hole that overlaps the two pop tabs. Ch1. SC 3 in the hole. *Add your next pop tab and SC 3 in the hole. *You will be SC through 2 tabs each time. Repeat from * to * until you’ve used all 16 pop tabs or till the desired length. After you’ve used them all overlap the first and last one and SC 3. Slst to the first SC. Cut it if you plan to use a different color for trim..
Repeat for the other side.
Round 2: If you didn’t add beads in the beginning, string 16 beads on to your thread. Slipstitch in a SC, ch 1. HDC in the same stitch, HDC in the next, pull up 1 bead, HDC in the next 2 sc. * HDC in next sc, pull up a bead, HDC in the next 2sc.* Continue around until you get back to the beginning. Slst in the first HDC
Repeat for the other side.
Weave in all ends.
